on the town monday - freestone park

in preparation for an up coming photo shoot (!!!), my little family came with me to scope out a potential location. freestone park is located in gilbert, az and has it's own personal train. the train wasn't running that day, but there are little train tracks that run through the whole park, so you know it has to be good. maybe i'm easy to please, but i found that little tidbit delightful. there are lots of little sets of playground equipment scattered throughout the grounds and they have a carousel by what appeared to be the train station.

baby may or may not have been offended by the leash we introduced this trip. it was hard to tell because he could have just been upset with the ichy-ness of the lumpy grass he kept falling over in.

here baby is trying to regain his composure after having to endure walking in itchy grass with a monkey strapped to his back. but really he liked sitting on the bench. really, he did.

my favorite thing about this place was the duck pond. there is a large pond that sits in the middle of the park, and there is an elevated segment of it that is shaded where all the ducks hang out. it was so cool! if i were a duck i would hang out there, too, especially since people come bearing bread to share. this place looks perfect for a picnic and/or family gathering.

ducks made everything better. especially when a couple feeding ducks shared some bread with us baby to throw to the ducks. baby took this offering as a personal snack and ate it himself.

baby wondering why the ducks got so much more bread than he did.
