movie review tuesday - once

film: once
starring: glen hansard and marketa irglova
synopsis: a modern-day musical about a busker and an immigrant and their eventful week in dublin, as they write, rehearse and record songs that tell their love story.
grade: a-

i really enjoyed this movie. all the music is amazing. and since lately i've been struggling with making friends in my general area, i really loved how easy the main characters became friends. i love when two people treat each others like they are friends already. ask husband about when we met and you learn that our first few encounters were very much this way. another gem in the movie was how respondsible the main girl ways. she had many opportunities to blow off her duties to her family, but she never hesitated in saying she had commitments already. refreshing. and when asked to move away with the main guy, she was quick to ask if her mom could come, too. i was disappointed in the amount of f-bombs dropped in this 89 minute film. not cool guys. not cool at all.

Umm. We are not super close (propinquinty wise) but we are not super far and it has been smashing fun to get to know you thru blog... (How sad it that... being related and all) But I think we need to get us all together now and again. I will let you know next time we have a girls night.
