Day 1

Remember when I pretended to be a fashion blogger? Well I'm going to masquerade as one for the next 21 days. Kayla over at Freckles in April is hosting a 21 day challenge to be intentional with daily wear, and since I want to be more intentional in my life, I thought I would participate.

The prompt for today is remix something, meaning I needed to pick an article of clothing that I would wear differently 3 times in the next three weeks. Initially I picked something else, but the ensemble was way too reminiscent of an awful outfit I wore the first day of high school which I never repeated. So you can understand why I put the kibosh on that one. It didn't take too long to come up with another outfit.

I found a dress while thrifting this weekend. It is a style that I have been praying I would find on the cheap: 100% cotton, flowy, sleeves, and just short enough to wear with jeggings. It is definitely one that I want to wear at least 3 times in the next few weeks, so it is my pick for remix.

dress: thrifted, shorts: thrifted jeans turned cut-offs, shoes: who needs them

Maybe I feel like I'm channeling some dust bowl/Great Depression with this outfit. Sometimes the AZ summer sun makes me feel like I'm living in the Grapes of Wrath, only with more heat and prosperity.

I've been toying with the idea of a "30 for 30" challenge a la Kendi Everyday, but I'm weirded out by the idea of posting 30 photos of myself on my blog. Maybe if you can do it, so can I. And maybe you want to join me...?

I'm loving the color of the dress! Excited to see what else you come up with. More thrifted finds, I hope?

LOVE that dress! My thrift store isn't so good on the clothes.

Yay for thrifty finds! That dress is perfect for the weather we're having. I feel like death every time I step outside lately.
