i am not an interior designer

if ever there was an little desire in my heart to be an interior designer, taking the intro class has killed it. i have a color project due this afternoon that has taken me at least 25 hours and i still have a little left. i have spent all this time on it, and i feel it is just okay. there is nothing impressive about it and it is not a project that i will ever want to show anyone ever again. on a positive note, i did find a beautiful piece of tile in a deep shade of red-violet. it is the one piece of my project that i will hold on to because it is just so cool. maybe one day i will use it as inspiration for my own kitchen. or maybe not.

i am taking this class strictly because it was the only class at mcc that fulfilled a major requirement that i overlooked before leaving provo for sunnier pastures. my teacher is pretty cool, i've decided, and has a pretty interesting life story so i am glad i'm taking the class for that. plus it is a class that is based on projects instead of papers, so although they take a good chuck of time to complete, i do not have to write a billion page paper about anything. comforting seeing as i have 4+ classes that are writing heavy in the near future.

just needed to put that out there. now i'm going to bed.

Oh man, I remember doing the interior design projects and getting very stressed out if I didn't think I was doing them right. The only time I did like it was when I took a low key class of it at EVIT when I was a senior in high school.

I took an Interior Design class from MCC too. If it taught me anything, it taught me, interior design was NOT for me. Its not that I dont have style or cant appreciate a nice, well planned room... I just had very specific taste and ended up limiting myself and wasn't good at broadening my taste. I enjoyed the class, but never looked back.
