This movie had a lot of hype, so I was excited to see it. I liked it, but did not love it. It had good parts, like the animation, obviously, and the whole avatar concept was cool. But the story line was so predictable. So very, very predictable. I doubt I will watch this one again anytime soon. It would have been epic to see it on the big screen, though.

I have the Blu-Ray disc sitting here, but have not found 3 hours to sit down and watch it. Your review doesn't really make me want to find time today either.
WATCH IT IN BLU-RAY! Go into it for entertainment, not enlightening and you'll see awesome effects and so little Sigourney Weaver that you won't even know she's in the movie.
Yes, the story line was predictable, but what film isn't?
One drawback is that you can't divide the movie into days or you'll lose the magic. So go ahead and wait until you have three free hours. Oh, and I won't let my kiddies *(meow)* watch it.
I pretty much agree with you Lydia. I was fooled into thinking that it was going to be a quality movie but it was kind of low class in terms of story and whatnot. Movies haven't changed a bit since I left and I think I will probably continue to avoid them for the most part.
Yeah. Character and plot development were definitely secondary to the CG special effects. It was beautiful film, it wasn't exactly intellectually stimulating.
Fern Gully/Pocahontas for grown-ups. it was like James Cameron was only concerned with visual effects and forgot about a screenplay. Stunning visuals, though. I paid money to see it in theaters, but I don't care to own it.
