movie review tuesday - the proposal

film: the proposal
starring: sandra bullock and ryan reynolds
synopsis: a pushy boss forces her young assistant to marry her in order to keep her visa status in the u.s. and avoid deportation to canada.
grade: b

when the previews were first released, i was not interested in this film at all. it seemed like a sub-par romantic comedy that would end up being a waste of my life. when i heard positive things about it, i was intrigued and felt the need to watch it. i was pleasantly surprised. granted i have mixed feelings about the reason for the wedding, but at least she was using options available to be legal instead of disappearing and hanging out illegally. sandra bullock is of course a favorite and ryan reynolds is delightful. i love, love, love his comedic timing and delivery. it was a nice light hearted movie to watch. and watching the scenes filmed in alaska made me that much more thankful for my desert home.
