Cinco de Mayo Fiesta

A few weeks ago I looked up the history behind Cinco de Mayo, and came to the conclusion that it is an American holiday to eat Mexican food. Good enough. I invited some family over and we ate glorified taco salads, listened to mariachi music, and burst open a piñata. This may be the start of a fantastic family tradition.

delicious salad fixings - i had elk for the first time and it was amazing

best cupcakes I've ever eaten - red velvet piñata/flowers and Mexican hot chocolate

piñata inspired by refinery29

the piñata was too heavy for the string, so I told the boys they could throw it at the wall to bust it open. they were more than happy with that plan.

the boys were satisfied with the payoff.

Potty Like A Big Kid

A few weeks ago I hosted a Potty Party sponsored by Pull-ups. We learned the Potty Dance, ate food, and basked in our big kid-ness.

The kids danced their little hearts out. After dancing to the Potty Dance 5 million times, we grooved to the music on Pandora via the Pull-ups and Yo Gabba Gabba stations. I highly recommend them.

The food was all inspired by potty training (except for the fruit salad and pb&j). Just think about it.

There were many visits to the bathroom during the party and no accidents because we potty like big kids here. We also party like rock stars.

Thanks for picking us for the party House Party!

Blue's Clues Party

This party occurred back in October and I couldn't go another day without posting the pictures. The event was planned by the same momma that put together the joint Wild Things party last year. This year it was Blue's Clues themed for just her youngest. And boy did she deliver a good time again. Honestly, I absolutely love photographing the parties she plans. The attention to detail is what blows me away. Any party I plan consists of a cake (or brownies as the case has been) and I call it good. She does everything from the themed cake to activities to homemade pinata. Basically she is an amazing party planner. Without further ado, pictures of the magic.

Birthday boy

The activities included handy dandy notebooks and coloring,

Cookie decorating,

More importantly cookie eating and frosting quality control tasting,

Stick the party hat on Blue,

Finding all three clues to see what Blue wanted the last activity to be,

Hitting/Attacking the pinata with gusto/mad hops,

Reaping the booty of a pinata destruction,

Blowing out bithday candles,

Eating cake,

And enjoying the consequences of missing naptime.

Again it was awesome. The Boy thought it was the best party he had ever been to and could not stop talking about it for days. It inspired his Halloween costume, actually. Thanks again for inviting us, G Family!
